Learn How To Play Eighth Note Triplets!

Eighth note tripelets can be confusing and a little hard to understand if you do not have any knowledge of music theory. The eighth note triplet subdivision falls in between regular eighth notes and sixteenth notes.

In a bar of 4/4 Time you can either have a total of 8 eighth notes ot 16 sixteenth notes, so with eighth notes triplets you would have 12 notes per bar.

There are many different ways to count eighth note triplets, but the easiest way I find is to count them '1, trip, let, 2, trip, let, 3, trip, let, 4, trip, let. If this counting scheme is too confusing for you, try to find something that you are more comfortable with, but make sure that for each beat you play/count three notes.
