Drum Theory Lessons
Drum Theory is a important aspect of drumming that many drummer overlook. The misconception is that if you use sheet music or drum charts, you are less of a drummer than someone who only plays by ear. This is definitely not the case. Although playing by ear is important and sufficient for most gigs, but if that's all you are able to do it will limit the gigs and bands you are able to audition for.
Some specific bands and gigs require that you are able to read sheet music and drum charts, and you definitely don't want to be singled out if you are unable to read sheet music. Its not very difficult to understand basic theory and notation, but if you want to have in depth knowledge it will take some time and dedication to leanring it.
