Learn How To Play Accented Notes!

In this lesson you will learn what accented notes are, and why they are important to impement them into your drumming.

Accent notes are simply a note that you play a little bit louder than the rest of the notes. This makes the accented note stand out a little bit more, and puts the emphasis on that specific note. In sheet music or drum notation an accented note is represented by a sideways "V" over top of the note.

There are ten examples given for you to play along to. Each one uses a different accent pattern, which will show you just how much different a simple pattern can be made by varying the pattern of the accents.
